When I was around level 10 in Howling Mountains (remember, that was the whole world to me those days), I saw a lot of guilds looking for new members.I was wondering what's all that fuzz about.
So I asked one of them what's a guild. The reply was to invite me right away to this guild. Being naïve and innocent (well, at least those days) I accepted their invitation and started learning the fancy life of a guild member.
To be honest, I must say my life did not change at all.
My boots were still dirty. Oh, oh wait, hold on a minute there. I don't use boots, I walk barefeet, so it must have been my toes that were still dirty. And I still had to kill my bear friends myself, no one helping for me. Well, I did not require any help there but I really would have appreciated the gesture. And I did not get paid for membership. nor did anyone dance for me. Later, when I met my dad, he told his guild members dance for him.
Anyway all those 2-3 days I spent in the guild, no-one talked to me, or I think to anyone, no chat although I saw several members there. I asked some questions which troubled me, but got no answer.
I think they were all too busy, or numb, or both. There is an option they were permanently stunned by my magnificent presence.
So after few days I declared my independence, saddled up the 2-hour white horse I had rented and left them to cry for their loss, which they probably don't realize even today.
